1. Who we are

Find a Venue (findavenue.co.uk) is operated by Programmatic Advertising Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11511858), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, VAT number GB 315 1326 43. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean that company. You can contact us at concierge@findavenue.co.uk.

By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. What Find a Venue does

Find a Venue is a website where people planning an event (“organisers”) can find venues for hire, and where venues can list their spaces.

We introduce organisers and venues. We are not a party to any booking between them and we do not act as agent for either. The contract for the hire of a space is between the organiser and the venue.

3. Your account

Some features need an account. You must give accurate details, keep your password secret and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what is done through your account.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

4. If you are an organiser

• Searching the site, saving venues, sending enquiries and sending a brief are free.
• Venue details, capacities and prices are supplied by the venues. We review listings before they are published, but we cannot guarantee that every detail is accurate or up to date. Prices shown are starting prices, not quotes.
• Always confirm the date, the price, what is included and the cancellation terms with the venue before you book.
• You pay the venue directly, on the terms you agree with it. Any dispute about a booking is between you and the venue.
• When you send a brief, you agree that we may share it with venues that fit it.

5. The concierge service

What you get

For the event described in your request, a concierge selects up to 20 venues that fit and sends them to you as a shortlist. If you are not happy with a shortlist, tell us and we send another shortlist of up to 20 venues. We repeat this until you tell us you are happy.

What is not included

The concierge service is a search service. It does not include the hire of a venue, and we do not guarantee that any venue will be available on your date or will accept your booking. You book and pay the venue yourself.

Price and payment

The concierge service costs £299 for one event. After you send the request form, we email you to confirm the details and arrange payment. The contract starts when we confirm that we have received your payment, and we start work then.

Refunds

You can cancel the concierge service and receive a full refund if you tell us within 14 days of the day you paid, whether or not we have already sent you a shortlist. To cancel, email concierge@findavenue.co.uk. We refund you by the method you used to pay, within 14 days of your request.

This does not affect your legal rights as a consumer.

6. If you list a venue

• Creating a listing is free.
• If we introduce a commission or any other charge on bookings, we will tell you the amount in writing before it applies to you, and before your first booking through the site. If you do not agree, you can remove your listing at no cost.
• You must have the authority to list the venue, and everything in your listing must be accurate and kept up to date: capacities, prices, licence hours, accessibility and photos.
• You must own the photos and text you upload, or have permission to use them. You give us permission to show them on the site and to use them to promote your listing.
• We review listings before they are published. We may edit a listing for clarity, decline it or remove it if it breaks these terms.
• You must answer enquiries honestly and honour the prices and terms you agree with an organiser.
• You can edit or remove your listing at any time from your account.

7. Reviews and other content you post

Reviews must be honest and based on your own experience of the venue. You must not post anything unlawful, defamatory, abusive or misleading, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights. We may remove content that breaks these rules.

8. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the site. In particular, you must not try to gain access to it without permission, copy its content in bulk, send unsolicited marketing through it, or use it to contact venues or organisers for any purpose other than arranging an event.

9. Our content

The design, text and software of the site belong to us or to our licensors. You may use the site for your own event planning or to manage your own listing. You may not copy or reuse its content for any other purpose without our written permission.

10. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit.

• If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable, or for the acts of a venue.
• If you are a business, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect loss. Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in those 12 months or £300, whichever is greater.

We do not own or run the venues and we are not responsible for the quality, safety or legality of a venue or of an event held in it.

12. Changes

We may change the site and these terms. The date at the top shows when the terms last changed. If you bought the concierge service, the terms in force when you paid apply to that purchase.

13. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
